Super Street Fighter IV, to many, is held as the pinnacle of fighting games. I’ve browsed around the net and seen it called everything from an art form to a revolution in fighting games, but my experience, coming into the game for the first time with Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition was bogged down with an extreme amount of frustration and complex button presses. So much so that I find myself constantly getting more annoyed at the game than actually enjoying it. That said, underneath the frustrations lies a surprisingly in-depth and intricate fighting game that rewards the technical control users while whipping the button-mashers with a cat o’nine tails.

Star Wars: The Old Republic
MMOs have always been problematic for me. After nabbing Guild Wars and City of Heroes, a rather secretive five month spree resulted in the fear that if I didn't detach immediately I'd look up in ten years time, my face would be entirely composed of beard, my muscles would have atrophied, physical friendship groups disbanded and my immediate surroundings would smell like a cross between a Mos Eisley back-alley and a bantha pit. So I made a rule: Never to play an MMO ever again. it was supposed to be for my own good, allowing for a productive and fulfilling life. I'm not saying that MMOs are evil or disparaging those who play them, indeed I rather salute you. But for me, though, the addictive dangers were all too real.

Dungeon Siege 3
Previous entries in the franchise have never been regarded as massively story driven games and have instead focused on action and accessibility, Dungeon Siege 3 however is a product of Obsidian games and their influence is clear to see. There’s more focus on the story this time around (the story isn’t any special but the expected good vs evil with very little original or interesting to speak off) with heavy use of conversation tree’s with NPC’s and mini cut scenes, this is the first problem Dungeon siege 3 runs into.
Hunted - The Demon's Forge
The game begins by introducing us to the two main characters, named E’lara and Caddoc. E’lara is an elf and is proficient with a bow and arrow. Eagle eyed gamers will realize that her character design is heavily inspired by Lord of the Ring’s Legolas. Caddoc is the other main character and strangely looks like former WWE Superstar Stone Cold Steve Austin - only with a heavy British accent.

Battlefield 3
Daniel Matros, Global Battlefield Community Manager at DICE, threw a few tweets out this morning making some pretty optimistic comments regarding Battlefield 3. Can you really please everyone with one game? Daniel seems to think so...
Alice: Madness Returns
The works of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (or to you and me: Lewis Carroll) famously fall under the genre of “literary nonsense”. They are, however, incredibly influential works and had surreal metaphors for Alice’s own problems with growing up and her curious nature. Over the years there have been many adaptations of the timeless classic. From the semi-inaccurate animated offering from Disney to the overly gritty epic offering from Tim Burton… via Disney.
Civilization World Open Beta
Currently in a closed-beta, Civ World isn’t available to the masses but that will soon change as Sid Meier’s Civilization World will enter into an open beta this month.
